Hi, my name is Jo Carlton. As many of you have already heard, I am the new owner of Scrappy Quilter. I am very blessed to have this opportunity and hope that I can make Lisa proud. Her shop is in good hands and I am confident that I can keep “her baby” happy and healthy. I am extremely thankful for all the help and encouragement that Lisa has given me in this transition. Everyone at the store is staying and is already helping me become familiar with all of you, our wonderful customers at Scrappy Quilter.
I have been quilting for 34 years and been working in quilting stores for 12 of those years. I have always loved the look and feel of a beautifully quilted antique quilt and wanted to recreate that beauty. I started quilting in South Dakota in 1981, while I was pregnant with my first child. I started on my own and made many mistakes. If there was a wrong way to do it, I found it! But, I so loved the process that I started to take classes and have been passionate about making quilts ever since.
I will be keeping everything that Lisa has created in Scrappy Quilter and will be adding a few more things! We are excited to be bringing in a line of wool, and many wool notions and patterns to Scrappy Quilter. We are also going to be adding many more classes and clubs to the calendar. Adding some modern and some 30’s. You may even start to see some clothing items pop up at Scrappy Quilter!
Scrappy Quilter is a quality quilt and fabric shop located in the Northeast section of the greater San Antonio area in Schertz, Texas. It is conveniently located close to Randolph Air Force Base, The Forum and Interstate 35 North.
